2023 Horses

2023 Bay Roan Filly "Belle" $4000.00

Date of Birth: May 1, 2023  Date of Picture: July 5, 2023

Dam: VK Copper Queen Gee2 AQHA 5727537 (Bambi 2)

Sire: Indigo Bluevalentine AQHA 5830428 (Indigo)

Bambi2 is by our stud DD Valentine King on her top side and on her bottoms side is a daughter of Prospective Copper (GeeGee) who was a daughter of Copper Queen Gee (Bambi) who won the 4H Texas State Finals in reining out of 485 qualifiers.   GeeGee was a working cow horse trained by Walter Grider.  Copper Queen Gee was double-bred King.

Belle's sire, Indigo, is 35+ percent Blue Valentine.  He is a blue roan, 16 hands tall, and is  homozygous, which means that he will always produce roan colts. This is only the second group of colts that Indigo has sired so we don’t know yet what his colts will accomplish with respect to performance.  Since we have raised him, we know that he has a very gentle disposition.

As you can see, Belle has awesome conformation, and she has the same sweet disposition that her parents have.   We don't have any performance record on Belle's siblings as she is Bambi 2's 2nd colt.  If you want a god all around filly that has the breeding to rope, rein, run barrels, or be a great 4H project don't overlook Belle.

2023 AQHA Palomino Filly “Dasher” $4500.00

Date of Birth: April 16, 2023  Date of Pictures: July 12, 2023

Dam: LM Dash For Sassie AQHA X0728341 (Sassie)

Sire: Indigo Bluevalentine AQHA 5830428 (Indigo)

Dasher’s dam, Sassie, is a Jet of Honor/ Dash for Cash mare. On her dam’s side, she has Lightning Bar, Fast Dasher, Dasher Deck, Dash for Cash, Rocket Wrangler, Raise a Native, and Moon Deck, all within the first 4 generations.

Sassie is a daughter of LikeMyers (Chick), and he has produced quite a few 1D barrel horses.  Since we lost Sassie’s dam when Sassie was two, we decided to keep her for a brood mare to replace her dam.  After seeing this colt, I think we made the right decision!

Dasher is Sassie’s third baby and is the first by Indigo so we have no sibling information we can share with you.  With her breeding (and her appearance), dasher would certainly be a good candidate for an FFA or a 4H project.  She will have the speed to compete in any running event, and with Indigo’s roping and reining background, nothing would limit Dasher from excelling in any roping event. Dasher has a wonderful disposition, and we can’t fault her conformation.  She is typical of Indigo’s foals as she has size and his good disposition.  Although Indigo is blue roan and homozygous, he has produced several palomino offspring.  They are born white, but by the time they are 8 or 9 months old, they start to show palomino markings.  Dasher started to show the palomino coloring in this picture, although she was only 5 months old.

2023 Bay Roan Stud "Dial" $4000.00

Date of Birth: August 3, 2023  Date of Picture: August 15, 2023 and October 20, 2023

Dam: DD Glory Dancer AQHA X0661855 (Glory)

Sire: Likemeyers AQHA 5258355 Red Roan (Chick)

Dial’s dam (Glory) is a race-bred Native Dancer mare that includes 3 of the Rocking N Ranch stallions that have produced roping as well as barrel horses.in her pedigree.  Her grand dam produced 2 1D barrel horses, and her dam’s sire, DialDollyforMuscle (Bisquit), has produced many roping horses and a grand champion halter mare that placed second at the AQHA 2016 World Show.  She also was a buckskin association world-champion barrel mare.  Bisquit also sired the Reserve Champion pole and barrel mare in the 2016 AQHA World Show.  In addition, he has produced several calf-roping and PRCA team-roping horses. We stood one of his calf-roping sons during the 2018 breeding season (King) until he was stolen in November of 2019.

Dial’s sire “Chick,” is a grandson of Chick’s Beduino and a granddaughter of Awesome Blossom by On a High. He also has Dash for Cash and Easy Jet in his pedigree.  Chick’s sire has a RACE ROM, a speed index of 98, and there are 6 AQHA Hall of Famers in his first 4 generations.  From the looks of this stud colt and his pedigree with speed on both sides and cow on his  sire’s side, we think he is a particularly good prospect for an all-around.  Because Dial was born so late in the season, he will not be competitive for yearling halter classes, but as you can see from his picture, he has wonderful conformation and has nearly caught up in size to his earlier 2023 siblings. Glory's offspring have been outstanding in barrel racing and roping, and most of her colts have been sired by LikeMyers (Chick).  All have been very gentle, good-minded, and have excelled in several performance .events, particularly in barrels. Since Chick also has produced colts with Glory and his other mares that have excelled in every performance event, Dial could make an all-around performance animal as well as a 1D barrel horse.

Dial was born as a bay, but he has changed color since he was born and is now a bay roan

2023  Buckskin Stud “Flash” $4000.00

Date of Birth: April 17, 2023  Date of Pictures: July 10, 2023 and August 8, 2023

Dam: NF Gayla Moonflash AQHA X0689098 (Gayla)

Sire: LikeMyers AQHA 5258355 2009 red roan (Chick)

If you are looking for a barrel prospect, check out Flash. Gayla, his dam, is by NF Native Flash Dance, one of our studs who had the speed, good mind, and the quiet disposition we look for in barrel horses.  (Native Flash Dance and his sire both have race ROMs)

Flash’s dam (Gayla) is by Dina Jack, a Gay Bar King/Moon Deck mare, who has produced several all-arounds and reining horses. She has been a valuable addition to our broodmare band for many years.  Dina has Two Eyed Jack, Gay Bar King, Moon Deck, and Go Moon Go,who is AAA and has an ROM, in her pedigree.  In addition to their speed, Gayla’s colts have shown reining ability and their confirmation and versatility have made them ideal prospects for 4H.

Flash’s sire (Chick) has 6 horses in the AQHA Hall of Fame in his first 4 generations. His sire has a speed index of 96. His grandsire on his sire’s side is Chicks Beduino by Beduino, and his granddam on Chick’s side is Awesome Blossom by On a High. He also has Chick’s Deck, Dash for Cash, Easy Jet and Broom Straw in his sire’s pedigree. In addition to all these horses, Chick’s dam’s sire is Mr. Meyers, a son of Miss Meyers and Go Man Go, both AQHA Hall-of-Famers.

This colt has 2 barrel horse siblings that are 1D in barrel performance. His  disposition and conformation will enable him to excel at any speed event, but he also has full siblings that rope so he has the background to be competitive in any cow as well as speed event.  His quiet disposition, conformation, and the way he moves also makes him a candidate for a 4H or FFA project.

2023 AQHA Bay Roan Stud "HotShot" $4000
Date of Birth: April 20, 2023  Date of Pictures: November 1, 2023
Dam: DD Native Topshot AQHA X0702175 bay (Topsy)
Sire: Indigo Bluevalentine AQHA 5830428 (Indigo)

Hotshot’s dam (Topsy) is by DialDollyforMuscle (Bisquit) who produced several ROM roping horses, a world champion barrel mare, and the 2016 AQHA reserve World champion pole and barrel mare. Bisquit was raised on the Rocking N, and he produced as many roping horses as he did barrel horses. Topsy’s dam was a full sister to our stallion, Native Flash Dance, that we had to retire several years ago due to injury, and is a full sister to the dam that produced the 2016 AQHA reserve world champion pole and barrel mare.

This is the second year we have had offspring by Indigo Bluevalentine. Although he is over 35% Blue Valentine, there are also some speed horses in his pedigree. Hotshot is Topsy’s fifth foal and is the third by Indigo. We don’t have any sibling performance information yet for Topsy/Indigo colts, but we can already tell that Hotshot has the good mind that is a characteristic of the Rocking N babies. We are confident that he has the disposition, conformation, and coordination and size to be an all-around. His dam roped and ran barrels, and from the way he moves, we think he will be fully capable of performing like his dam.

2023 Red Roan Filly “Jackie” $4500
Date of Birth: June 9, 2023   Date of Pictures: July 20, 2023 and August 26, 2023
Dam: MBJ Copper Queen AQHA 5144626 Buckskin (Mariah)
Sire: Likemeyers AQHA 5258355 red roan (Chick)

Jackie’s dam (Mariah) is by a Blue Valentine, 2-eyed-Jack stud that had Mito Paint, Native Dancer, and Go Man Go on his dam’s side.  Her dam is out of a working cow horse mare that is the last producing daughter of a double-bred King mare with an ROM in reining (Copper Queen Gee) that won the Texas state 4-H finals in reining out of 385 qualifiers She was a consistent horsemanship and reining winner throughout her showing career. This mare (Copper Queen Gee) was one of the most important contributors to the Rocking N broodmare band.  Mariah was trained for calf roping by James Free, and we were so impressed with her first colt (DD Valentine King), that we kept him for a stud. He also was trained by James Free for calf roping. We used him for stud in 2018 and 19; Sadly, in November of 2019, King and his 8 mares were stolen.

Jackie’s sire, “Chick,” is a grandson of Chick’s Beduino and a granddaughter of Awesome Blossom by On a High. There are 6 AQHA Hall of Famers in his first 4 generations. He also has Dash for Cash and Easy Jet in his pedigree, and his sire has an ROM in Race and has a speed index of 96.

Jackie’s pedigree should enable her to do just about anything a cowhorse or reiner could do, and with the speed from her sire, she also could be competitive in barrels. She has a great disposition, and her siblings have all been successful in their various disciplines. In addition to being competitive for any type of performance, her conformation would enable her to be competitive in halter classes; so, we think she would be an outstanding 4H or FFA project.

2023 AQHA Bay Filly “Leota”  $3800.00

Date of Birth: April 17, 2023  Date of Picture: July 10, 2023

Dam: DD Bea Bea  AQHA 4765840 (BeaBea)

Sire: NF Driftwood Leo AQHA X0733937 (Leo)

Leota’s dam was raised on the Rocking N ranch as was her dam, her granddam, and her great grand dam (Copper Queen Gee). Leota’s granddam produced 5 1D barrel horses, and she was one of 12 full siblings, all of which were either top barrel horses or roping horses. Her great grand dam was a 4-H State Champion in Reining, Halter, Showmanship, and Horsemanship.

In past years, we have taken turns breeding BeaBea to LikeMyers, a Chick’s Beduino stud, who stands on the Rocking N Ranch and “Bisquit", a Doc’s Prescription stud that we raised and bred here for 18 years. Both stallions have produced top all-around horses when bred to BeaBea, as they have run barrels as well as roped and have had the good minds for which our horses are noted. One of BeaBea’s full sisters was the all-around champion in a Dallas 4H state show. Also noteworthy is that BeaBea’s sire (Bisquit) also sired the 2016 AQHA Reserve World Champion Pole and Barrel Mare and the 2016 3rd place AQHA World Aged Halter mare.

BeaBea was the first granddaughter of our ROM reining mare, and has been bred to all of the studs we have raised here. Another stud we had was Hot Shot Divi, whose sire was 4th in the All American Futurity.  Although HotShot was all racebred, he loved to work cattle, and he could do just about anything that cow horses do.  A big plus was his speed, as nothing could outrun him!  Now we have added another stallion to our list of sires, and with Leo's breeding and BeaBea’s, we know that Leota will excel in anything she is asked to do!  She has beautiful conformation and a wonderful disposition. We were so pleased with BeaBea's ability to excel in everything that we also kept her full brother and used him for many years for all our cowhorse needs on the ranch.

2023 AQHA Red Roan Filly “Magic” $4500.00

Date of Birth: April 15, 2023  Date of Pictures: September 1, 2023

Dam:  DD Trixie Dun It AQHA 5520243 dun (Trixie)

Sire: Likemeyers AQHA 5258355 red roan (Chick)

Magic’s granddam’s sire is a grandson of Poco Bueno on the top side and a great grandson of Oklahoma Fuel on the bottom side.  Her dam’s sire was DialDollyforMuscle, (Bisquit) who stood at the rocking N for 15 years. Bisquit has Doc’s Poco Wimpy, Johnny Dial, and Doc’s Prescription in his pedigree, and he sired the 2016 AQHA World Reserve Pole and Barrel Mare and the 2016 3rd place AQHA World performance halter mare.  He also has sired many calf and team roping horses..One of his calf roping sons stood at the Rocking N for several seasons until he was stolen in 1990.

Magic’s sire is a grandson of Chick’s Beduino and a granddaughter of Awesome Blossom by On a High. There are 6 AQHA Hall of Famers in Magic’s sire’s first 4 generations. He also has Dash for Cash and Easy Jet in his pedigree. His sire has an ROM in Race and a speed index of 96.  Magic should be able to do just about anything a cow horse or reiner could do and with the speed from Chick, she can also be considered as a candidate for barrel racing. Magic has had 6 siblings, and all have had great dispositions, learned quickly, and all have been successful in their various disciplines.

2023 AQHA Sorrel Filly “Secret” $3500.00

Date of Birth: June 15, 2023  Date of Pictures: July 8, 2023

Dam: PS Raise a Sundance AQHA X0650301 Bay (Tia)

Sire:  Likemeyers AQHA 5258355 Red Roan (Chick)

Tia is a full sister to our Native Dancer stallion, Flash, who stood here for 13 years, and produced many 1D barrel as well as roping horses.  Tia is a full sister to Dancing Prospect, who was the dam of the 2016 AQHA Performance World Show Reserve Champion Pole and Barrel Mare.  In addition to Raise a Native, Secret has two Race ROM horses, 3 AQHA Champions, and two Hall of Famers in the first 4 generations of her pedigree. One quality that was evident in both Tia and Chick is that both are capable of producing good roping horses as well as good barrel horses.

Secret’s sire, Chick, is a son of a race ROM horse with a speed index of 96 and is also a grandson of Chick’s Beduino and Awesome Blossom by On a High. Chick has Dash for Cash, Go Man Go, Easy Jet, and a total of 6 AQHA Hall of Famers in his first 4 generations.

Secret is a natural for timed events, could also win halter classes, can be considered for many cow events, and would be a top candidate for a 4H all-around. She has the speed to more than meet anyone's expectations for a barrel prospect.  She is good minded and has the quiet disposition and stability needed for race events.

We lost Flash 2 years ago, and we have raised Secret's full brother, Patrick, to be his replacement.

2022 Horses

2022 AQHA Sorrel Stud “Ace”  $3500.00

Date of Birth: March 23, 2022  Date of Picture: July 15, 2023

Dam: PS Raise a Sundance AQHA X0650301 (Tia)

Sire: Likemeyers AQHA 5258355 Red Roan (Chick)

Tia is a full sister to our Native Dancer stallion, Flash, who stood here for 13 years, and produced many 1D barrel as well as roping horses.  Tia is a full sister to Dancing Prospect, who was the dam of the 2016 AQHA Performance World Show Reserve Champion Pole and Barrel Mare.  In addition to Raise a Native, Ace has two Race ROM horses, 3 AQHA Champions, and two Hall of Famers in the first 4 generations of his pedigree. One quality that was evident in both Tia and Flash is that both were able to produce good roping horses as well as good barrel horses.

Ace’s sire, “Chick,” is a son of a race ROM horse with a speed index of 96 and is also a grandson of Chick’s Beduino and Awesome Blossom by On a High. Chick has Dash for Cash, Go Man Go, Easy Jet, and a total of 6 AQHA Hall of Famers in his first 4 generations.

Ace is a natural for timed events, could also win halter classes, can be considered for many cow events, and would be a top candidate for a 4H all-around. He has the speed to more than meet anyone's expectations for a barrel prospect. He is good minded and has the quiet disposition and stability needed for race events.  We lost Flash as a stallion 2 years ago, and we have raised Ace's ’s full brother to be his replacement.

2022 AQHA Bay Filly, "Jewel"  $4000.00

Date of Birth: May 8, 2022  Date of Picture: Sept. 9, 2022

Dam: Oro Sabina AQHA #X0630329 Buckskin (Sable)

Sire: LikeMyers AQHA 5258355 Red Roan (Chick)

Jewel is a barrel prospect.  Sable, her dam, has Raise a Native, Special Secret, Prospective Silver, Sugar Bars and Docs Tom Cat bloodlines. She is also a full sister to 2 excellent 1D barrel horses, Catman and Tomcat. Sable was started on barrels, and was showing that like her brothers, she had the potential to make a 1D barrel horse, but we felt that she would be a great addition to our broodmare band so we decided to breed rather than show her. Catman's owner, Carolyn Van Lare, is running him in Arkansas and placing him consistently with 1D times. Tomcat lives on a ranch up north, and he is not only running 1D barrels, but he is being used to round up and pen cattle on a sizeable cattle ranch.

Jewel's sire, “Chick,” is a grandson of Chick’s Beduino and a granddaughter of Awesome Blossom by On a High. Chick’s sire has his Race ROM and has a speed index of 98. He has Dash for Cash and Easy Jet in his pedigree and has 6 AQHA Hall of Famers in his first 4 generations.  Chick has sired many 1D barrel horses.  Jewel will be a candidate for any event requiring speed, but like Catman and Tomcat, she could also make a good roping horse. Sable has also had colts by Max (our Blue Valentine stud), and all her foals have had good minds, great dispositions, and top speed. Since Catman and Tomcat also are competitive in roping, Jewel will probably be capable of roping also.  With her quiet disposition and her confor-mation, she would be a top candidate for all youth activities.

2021 Horses

2021 AQHA Bay filly “Candy”  $4000

Date of Birth: June 12, 2021  Date of Pictures: May 1, 2022

Dam: NF Dial A Star AQHA X0702175 (Star)

Sire: Likemeyers AQHA 5258355 Red Roan (Chick)

Candy’s dam has such greats as Raise a Native, King, Dividend, Depth Charge, Sugar Bars, Doc’s Prescription,Three Bars and Old Grandad in her pedigree. She also has an AQHA champion and a reining ROM in her first 4 generations on her dam’s side.  Her sire has 2 race ROMs and 6 Hall of famers in his first 4 generations, and he has already produced 6 1D barrel horses.

Since we have owned 4 generations of her dam’s parents, we know that Candy will excel in any speed or cow event. Two siblings have already shown their versatility in performance.  One is showing great potential as a barrel horse, and the other is being trained to work cattle and calf rope.  Like some of her other siblings, she is showing the potential to be an all-around performance animal and is also showing potential as a halter prospect.

2021 AQHA Bay Filly “Dancer” $4000

Date of Birth: April 12, 2021  Date of Picture: November 1, 2021

Dam: PS Raise a Sundance AQHA X0650301  bay (Tia)

Sire: Likemeyers AQHA 5258355 Red Roan (Chick)

Tia is a full sister to our Native Dancer stallion, Flash, who stood here for 13 years, and produced many 1D barrel horses as well as roping horses.  She is also a full sister to Dancing Prospect, who was the dam of the 2016 AQHA Performance World Show Reserve Champion Pole and Barrel Mare, who was born on this ranch.  In addition to Raise a Native, Dancer has two Race ROM horses, 3 AQHA Champions, and two Hall of Famers in the first 4 generations of her pedigree. One of the greatest qualities that were evident in both Tia and Flash is that both were able to produce good roping horses as well as barrel horses.

Dancer’s sire, “Chick,” is a son of a race ROM horse with a speed index of 96 and is also a grandson of Chick’s Beduino and Awesome Blossom by On a High. Chick has Dash for Cash, Go Man Go, Easy Jet, and a total of 6 AQHA Hall of Famers in his first 4 generations.  Dancer has inherited the quiet dispositions of both parents. She is a natural for timed events, could also win halter classes, can be considered for many cow events, and would be an excellent candidate for 4H. If you are looking for a barrel prospect, Dancer has the speed to more than meet your expectations!  In addition to speed, she has the quiet disposition, stability and good mind needed for race events.  We lost Flash as a stallion 2 years ago, and we have raised Dancer’s full brother to be his replacement.  We should have his first offspring this spring.

2021 AQHA bay filly “Jetta”  $4000

Date of Birth: April 24, 2021

Date of Pictures: November 1, 2021 and September 9, 2022

Dam: MBJ Copper Queen AQHA 5144626 Buckskin (Mariah)

Sire: Likemeyers AQHA 5258355 red roan (Chick)

Jetta’s dam (Mariah) is by a Blue Valentine, 2-eyed-Jack grullo stud that has been used for stud on this ranch for 18 years. Max also has Mito Paint, Native Dancer, Redman, and Go Man Go his pedigree.  Mariah’s dam is out of a working cow horse mare that is the last producing daughter of a double-bred King mare with an ROM in reining (Copper Queen Gee) that won the Texas state 4-H finals in reining out of 385 qualifiers. She was a consistent horsemanship and reining winner throughout her showing career. This mare (Copper Queen Gee) was one of the most important contributors to the Rocking N broodmare band.  Mariah was trained for calf roping by James Free, and we were so impressed with her first colt (DD Valentine King), also trained by James Free for calf roping, that we decided to use him as a stud.

Jetta’s sire, “Chick,” is a grandson of Chick’s Beduino and a granddaughter of Awesome Blossom by On a High. There are 6 AQHA Hall of Famers in Chick’s first 4 generations. He also has Dash for Cash and Easy Jet in his pedigree.  His sire has an ROM in Race and a speed index of 96.  We are not sure of Jetta’s color as Mariah, when bred to Chick, has never produced a foal that has not been a roan, sorrel, or a palomino. Mariah has been a top cow horse so when bred to Chick, her offspring have been able to do just about anything from team penning or roping that a cow horse can do, reining or working cow from her granddam’s reining ability, and last but not least, Jetta should have the speed from her sire to also run barrels. Jetta has several siblings, all have had great dispositions, and all have been successful in their various disciplines. And, look at her conformation!!

2020 Horses

2020 AQHA Bay Stud “Mack"  $5000

Date of Birth: April 30, 2020  Date of Picture:  July 30, 2021

Dam: Oro Sabina  AQHA X0630329 buckskin (Sable)

Sire: LikeMyers AQHA 5258355 red roan (Chick)

If you are looking for a barrel prospect, look no further.  Mack’s dam, Sable, was a barrel horse with Raise a Native, Special Secret, Prospective Silver, Sugar Bars and Docs Tom Cat in her bloodlines.   His sire, “Chick,” is a grandson of Chick’s Beduino and a granddaughter of Awesome Blossom by On a High. Sable was 1D and is a full sister to 2 excellent 1D barrel horses, Catman and Tomcat. Sable was also an excellent barrel mare, but we felt that she would be such an outstanding addition to our broodmare band that we decided to breed rather than barrel race with her. Afton Vititow trained Catman, and his new owner, Carolyn Van Lare is running him in Arkansas and placing him consistently with 1D times.

Chick’s sire has his Race ROM and a speed index of 96. Chick also has Dash for Cash and Easy Jet in his pedigree as well as 6 AQHA Hall of Famers in his first 4 generations.  Mack should excel at any event requiring speed. He is only the 5th colt from Sable by Chick, but all her foals have had good minds, great dispositions, and have been easy to break and train. In addition to running barrels, Catman and Tomcat (Sable’s full brothers), have also been used for roping, so we are confident that Mack will excel in any event his owner chooses.  Mack was only 3 days old when the first pictures were taken.  As his owner and the owner of this ranch, I have watched this colt since he was a baby, and I believe that Mack will be as good as our horse, ”Happy,” who had the same bloodlines and qualified my daughter in poles and barrels to the National High-School Rodeo Finals from Texas.  In the first two pictures, Mack is 3 days old.  In the last 3, he is 15 months old. He moves extremely well, is coordinated, and equally as important, he has a quiet, easy-going disposition and wants to please.

Mack is green broke to saddle and ready to be trained into the horse you want.
